There are loads of temples in Chiangmai, the city in Northern Thailand has an incredible temple density. Some of them you see all the time, others are quite hidden. The best thing to do is grab a bicycle and do a Chiang Mai temple tour. The entrance to all temples in Chiangmai is free. You should, however, be dressed adequately. Important to know: Wat is the Thai word for temple.

It can be particularly nice to join a ceremony inside one of the temples. Thai people are usually very willing to introduce tourists to their traditions.
